Position Description
Journeyman Electrician
Job Description-Install and modify new and existing electrical equipment according to installation instructions, Gov't requirements, National Electrical Code, and all applicable building codes. Will perform equipment start-ups, repairs and overhauls. Performs preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement and modifications to the electrical systems as needed. Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, project plans or other technical documents. Able to perform operation, installation and servicing of peripheral devices. Performs testing of numerous electrical applications. Computes load calculations and other electrical formulae. Requires troubleshooting and problem solving skills and ability to diagnose problems and recommend cost-effective solutions. Performs preventative maintenance on distribution systems and branch circuitry. Skilled in electrical lighting repair and installation, including ballast replacement, rewiring, and replacement/repair of fluorescent, incandescent and HID light fixtures. Applies knowledge of plumbing and HVAC trades for coordination of efforts.
Requirements-Must have 4 years of Journeyman License experience. Must have knowledge of residential and commercial wiring. Must have valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving standards.
